HOW IT WORKS

What does the record actually say?

That’s the kind of question legal experts help AI get right. Here’s how one assignment becomes an answer worth learning from.

Explore current projects

Depending on the project, you may build the task and reference answer or refine criteria from supplied sources. This example shows how those pieces fit.

01

Read the assignment.

Start with the question and the material you’re allowed to use. In this example, you have three records.

WORKED EXAMPLEDocument analysis

Does this record establish that all requested messages were preserved?

  1. 01

    Preservation request

    4 May

Preserve business messages from 1 March onward, including messages on personal devices.

  2. 02

    Admin log

    9 May

    Automatic message deletion disabled.

  3. 03

    Collection inventory

    10 May

Export covers 1 April–10 May. Personal devices are not included.

02

Explain the answer.

A reference answer shows what the sources support, where they conflict and what remains unknown.

ANSWER UNDER REVIEW

“All requested messages were preserved, as confirmed by the preservation request.”
REVIEW NOTE

A request tells people what to preserve. It doesn’t show what was actually kept.

REFERENCE ANSWER

Complete preservation is not established.

Deletion was disabled five days after the request [01, 02]. The export starts a month after the requested start date, and it excludes personal devices [01, 03].

Those gaps call for further investigation. They do not, by themselves, prove messages were lost.

03

Make the criteria precise.

Evaluation criteria need to distinguish a convincing answer from a correct one. State what the response must get right.

TOO BROAD

Mentions the preservation request.

REVISED CRITERION

Explains why the request is not proof of preservation.

  • Identifies the timing, date-range and device gaps.
  • Supports the conclusion with the relevant records.
  • Does not mistake missing evidence for proof of loss.
04

Review and revise.

Submit the required work, explain your decisions and respond to review feedback. A task may need revision before it is accepted.
